Powermarks 3.5 Build 387
This is an update for Firefox 2.0.0.X. We had to make changes, since our last beta release that worked with Firefox 1.5, in order for the plug-in to work with this new version. This new version of Powermarks contains a Firefox toolbar that allows Powermarks to work seamlessly with this popular browser. A user can open links in the current tab or window, a new tab, or a new window. The process of accessing Powermarks or adding bookmarks can be easily achieved by using the Firefox toolbar buttons. Please follow the instructions below to correctly install this beta version of Powermarks.
Check the bottom of this page for a list of changes in this version.
Troubleshooting: Since every installation is slightly different, sometimes upgrade problems are encountered. Try the solutions below to remidy the situation. Firefox does not restart: Start the program manually. Within Firefox click on the Tools->Extenstions menu and verify that Powermarks 1.8 toolbar is installed. Powermarks 1.5 or 1.6 Toolbar
is listed under extensions: Highlight the extension and try to
uninstall it. If you do not have the option to uninstall it, make
sure version 1.8 is installed by following the directions above. Powermarks toolbar does not show up: Click on View->Toolbars and see if it is listed. If so, just click on it to put a check next to it. Powermarks keeps trying to install Firefox toolbar: This means that Powermarks had not detected the Firefox toolbar has been installed. PM needs this toolbar to communicate with Firefox. Try to manually install the toolbar by following the instructions above.
Be sure to select Firefox as your preferred browser. We also suggest that you can also place a checkmark next to the option to "Use preferred browser even if another is running" feature if you want Powermarks to always use Firefox as your browser.
If you want to override your preferred opening method, just right click on a bookmark in Powermarks main window and select how you want the bookmark opened in Firefox from the pop-up menu.
1) From within Firefox, click on any toolbar and select the customize option. 2) Drag the Start Powermarks, PM Fast Add, and PM Add buttons to your toolbar. 3) Close the cutomize toolbar dialog. 4) Hide the Powermarks toolbar by going to View->Toolbars and de-selecting Powermarks for display. FOR POWERMARKS TO WORK WITH FIREFOX, YOU MUST LEAVE THE TOOLBAR INSTALLED, but you can hide it.
